Mr. Kanhaiya Kumar Singh, the Director of ‘TATVASI SAMAJ NYAS (TSN)’ has been a social activist right from his student-life and later has been associated with premier social organizations, engaged in rescue of child labor and trafficked children in different cities of Uttar Pradesh. During his stint he realized that around 90% rescued children hailed from Seemanchal region of Bihar. But the rehabilitation of these children remained a big problem. Therefore, to address the problem, he came back to his native state, Bihar and established his organization Tatvasi Samaj Nyas, which has finally been inaugurated in August 2006. The organization has primarily been engaged in repatriation and rehabilitation of trafficked children and women
A part of organizational operational area is badly effected of flood because many big rivers originate from The Himalayas are flowing across working areas. So poverty, unemployment, illiteracy and migration rate is very high in this area. These are the root causes of the slavery. Border of other countries and other states are nearer the operational areas so cross-border trafficking rate is also high. There are 42 big and small brothels are situated in Bihar and that brothels are working as a transit point. During organizational journey, we became successful to liberate 1550 trafficking victims and have rehabilitated. Out of them 350 survivors are benefited from Punarnawa shelter home. Through child helpline services, we have provided services to more than 3200 children. Through NFE centers we became successful to providing sewing training to 35 girls which belongs to brothel areas. We became successful in assisting in justice to 20 survivors and convicted 36 accused of human trafficking. Presently, we have been pursuing 107 legal cases of human trafficking in Bihar.
Tatvasi Samaj Nyas is directly working in 10 districts of Bihar and through follow up work we are working indirectly in 2 other countries ( Nepal and Bangladesh), 2 other states (West bengal and Jharkhand) and 6 districts of Bihar ( Samastipur, Madhubani, Darbhanga, Muzaffarpur, Sitamadhi, Buxar)
An anti trafficking project is running in 9 districts of Bihar by the support of Freedom Fund form 2011.
This program is promoting girls child education total 60 Learning Centres are running by TSN in two district Purnea and Kishanganj.
A project running by TSN by the support of Children on the edge at brothel area of purnea district.
CHILDLINE Collab is running by TSN from September 2008 in Purnea district. We have also started collab in district Nawada from year 2020 under ministry of women and child development.
TSN is implementing SuPoshan Program on the issue of nutrition, health, hygiene and livelihood for marginalised persons of communities in district Purnea
CHILDLINE subcenter is running in Barhara kothi district purnea under ministry of women and child development.
